July- Look Good, Feel Better

Central Kansas Cooperative In Education holds their early childhood screening clinic today for children in Saline, Ottawa and Ellsworth Counties. They will screen children in areas of hearing, seeing, talking, thinking, moving and playing. Children from birth to five years of age and children from ages 3-5 are screened. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a condition that occurs when your kidneys don’t work as well as they should to filter waste and toxins from your blood and keep your body chemically balanced. Getting diagnosed with CKD can understandably raise many questions, so learn everything you can about your kidneys and your condition.Being informed can help you take charge of your kidney health and keep your kidneys functioning as long as possible.

July 19 - Cancer Survivorship Workshop

"So Now What" is a conference on cancer survivorship. You will learn how to get back to your best health during and after treatment. Local and regional speakers will discuss lifestyle and best practices for the survivor in order to return to optimal health and to reduce the risk of reoccurrence. There will be presentations on weight, exercise, phychosocial and sexual health and nutrition. The information will benefit any cancer survivor and their co-survivor, not just breast cancer. It is sponsored by Susan G. Komen, Smoky Valley Community Foundation and Lindsborg Community Hospital.

Look Good, Feel Better

For those dealing with effects of cancer treatment who would like to learn techniques
for skin and nail care, make-up application, and ways to increase self-esteem.

Diabetes Support Group

These meetings feature interesting and informative speakers and discussion led by pharmacists from Salina Regional Health Center. Each evening will highlight a different diabetes-related topic designed to provide support for diabetics and their families. Door prizes will be awarded to the first 30 attendees! There will also be a prize drawing at each meeting and a grand prize drawing in June. Valet parking will be available at the hospital entrance.  Click here for flyer with more information.
