New Options Intensive Outpatient Program

730 Holly Lane, Salina, KS 67401
(785) 452-4930

The New Options Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a behavioral health treatment program for adults whose symptoms impair their day-to-day life.

The program may be used as a “step-up” for individuals who need more intensive services, but do not need inpatient hospitalization. The program may also be used as a “step-down” for individuals who have recently been hospitalized in an inpatient setting and need help transitioning back into less intense services.

Program Overview

Treatment is offered in a structured group-based setting with individually tailored treatment plans intended to meet the unique needs of each person. Group sessions are held three days per week from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Individual, couple and marital therapy sessions may also be included as part of an individual’s course of treatment on an as needed basis or as per insurance requirements.

Group topics are tailored to meet the needs of the individuals in group and may include information on, but not limited to: Anger, assertiveness, boundaries, changing negative thought patterns, coping skills, emotion regulation, grief and loss, relaxation techniques, self-esteem and sleep hygiene.

Treatment also includes weekly visits with a medical provider for psychiatric medication evaluation and management.

How Do I Pursue New Options IOP Treatment?

Please contact one of your inpatient or outpatient providers to request a referral for IOP treatment. Providers include, but are not limited to, primary care physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, physician assistants and nurse practitioners.

Outpatient providers can refer clients to New Options by contacting Veridian Behavioral Health via phone at (785) 452-4930. Referral information may also be faxed to the attention of New Options IOP Staff at (785) 452-6119.

Once a referral from a provider has been received, a member of the New Options staff will contact you to schedule an appointment for an IOP assessment. During the assessment process, a staff member will meet with you to answer any questions you might have about the program and complete paperwork.

We look forward to serving you as we work to “Improve the health of those who entrust us with their lives — the patients and communities we serve.”
